Introducing a New Artist

We have planned that our artist will not already be established in the music industry. The music video we have created is the public and the music industry's introduction to her and an establishment of her image. We have chosen a song we felt would be memorable to people due to the songs catchy riff. We have also looked at the distribution of music both on the internet and in shops and decided how we would apply these to Jose Vander's as she is a new artist. At the start of the year we looked at different radio stations and the type of genre's they aimed their music at. I remember miss mapp mentioning one that had a slot dedicated to showcasing new artists. I did some research into the radio station (BBC music introducing), and felt it was a great way to get Jose Vander's music played on the radio, in order for her to gain further exposure. The website for BBC music introducing is also helpful as it offers advice to new and unsigned artists as well as key opportunities, such as chances to play on the BBC music introducing stage at well established festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds. The only negative is that the radio shows are local, and therefore it is not national recognition, however it is still a radio play and an opportunity to become more recognised.
