We have discussed with the other members of the group about the phrase 'group of sweaty girls' and whether to film a group of girls but we have decided as we don't have long till the deadline we are going to have a close up of the artist singing to the camera. This will show the artists performance and facial expression.
We have all of the footage uploaded and are going through what we have and are making rough cuts to get they song in an order . We have also decided that when we cut from the station to the artist performing we are going to start with close ups of the artists face and the gradually show more of the artist playing the piano. We are going to try this in our music video to see if it works, and then discuss when the whole group is here whether it works well .
We have also made a new sequence where we have the mp3 version of the original track which we uploaded from YouTube to itunes then imported and rendered it in to a new sequence.

Distributing Music Online
It is safe to say that online music downloads are an increasingly important part of the music industry. It seems to have become a more popular way of selling music, especially with the ever increasing use of ipods and mp3 players. Itunes music store alone has sold over 10 billion tracks worldwide and has become one of the most used applications for selling music.
The disadvantages of distributing music online, are the increasing number of illegal websites that allow consumers to purchase mp3's for free. The most popular being limewire, however the site has only recently been banned. The quality of the track is also not guarenteed unless purchased through a more trustworthy site such as Itunes.
The advantages are that music is more available to consumers and rather than having the limited choice of buying a single or an album, the consumer can select however many songs they want of a particular artist from a range of albums and singles. Online music distribution has also become known as the 'Indie band survival guide', as the indie genre doesn't usually fall into chart music. Through the distribution of music online there tracks are more available to consumers.

Organisation
We have finished filming the close up shots, and have got several shots of the artists hands and face. We also filmed a mid shot pan of the artist playing the piano and singing. We have discussed the scene including the sweaty girls, and think that it will be difficult to film this scene as we don't have any sweaty girls and very limited time. We feel as if we don't need to shoot the scene as we can use the shots of our artist singing the song instead to fill that gap. We need to discuss this with our other group member as she is absent, and once we do, unless she has a better idea herself, we can make this a final decision.

Organisation
We have each chosen our clips which we are going to discuss with a voice over, where we will discuss the m-e-s, editing and lighting , what look good and what we we will need to change before we ask for audience feedback. We have had trouble uploading the clips to the blog but we are going to seek assistance. For now we have made notes on each clip are looking at and plan to record out noted verbally within this week.
Distribution
We are planning to look at distribution for our artist, and have decided to designate each other different areas distribution to look at. Hannah is going to look at distributing music through shops and CD's and Ellie is going to look at distributing online and how music can be illegally downloaded.
Editing
We have uploaded the rest of our footage and are making rough cuts to put the footage in an order, this will enable us to find out if we need more footage or not. We have discussed that we do not have enough close ups, and that the close ups we have filmed are not as close as they need to be!. So we are going to re film this section to add some more close ups, or the artist playing the piano and also of the artists face.
Costume ideas (Drafted on 10/10/10)
We've looked into Jose Vander's image, and discovered her style is more individual than other female artists. We used this as an inspiration for our artists image. We want to go for a look that portrays her as original and quirky, and we look at various clothing websites from high street to vintage to find this. We have also looked at current female artists on the market who are of similar genre. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th pictures that had been looked at in a previous lesson reminded us of Lilly Allen's dress in her music video 'the fear'. So we researched more into her image.

We then looked into her image as a whole but found that we didn't really like it. She had a more masculine element to her clothing wearing trainers with shorter dresses, she also portrayed herself as the type of person who would do anything just to be noticed by the media industry. For example there were images of her flashing to the camera and wearing provocative clothing which is the kind of sex appeal we want our artist to avoid.
We then looked further into Kate Nash and found her general image to almost identical to our chosen identity for Jose Vanders.

The most significant thing about the way that Kate Nash dresses is that she never wears anything that is low cut and/or provocative. She wears the same colour all the way down her body, this makes her stand out more and wears a different colour belt with a dress. The main colours she wears are yellow and red.
We have got a dress in mind with a high cut collar, and is navy with red bows. We plan to find a thin red belt and red heels. We feel that this stands out and connects well with our aim to have bright colours.
